Who Can Apply

Piri Reis University welcomes degree-seeking students worldwide. The core rule set by our directive and YÖK: you must be a high-school final-year student or graduate, and you must NOT have completed your entire high school in Türkiye.

You can apply if you are…

  • Foreign nationals — provided you did NOT complete your entire high school in Türkiye.
  • Blue Card holders — former Turkish citizens released from citizenship — who did not study or graduate from high schools in Türkiye or the TRNC (KKTC).
  • Later-naturalised and dual nationals — who did not study or graduate from high schools in Türkiye or the TRNC.
  • T.C. nationals who completed ALL of high school abroad (excluding the TRNC), including MEB-affiliated Turkish schools abroad.
  • TRNC (KKTC) nationals holding GCE AL, TR-YÖS or otherwise meeting the criteria — who did not attend Turkish-curriculum high schools in Türkiye/TRNC.

You are NOT eligible if…

  • T.C. nationals who finished high school in Türkiye or the TRNC.
  • TRNC or dual nationals who studied in Turkish-curriculum high schools in Türkiye/TRNC.
  • Dual nationals whose first nationality is T.C. by birth (except those who completed all of high school abroad).
  • T.C. or dual nationals attending foreign high schools located inside Türkiye.
  • Foreign nationals who studied or graduated from high schools in Türkiye/TRNC.

YÖK exceptions: students of embassy schools, MOBİS-listed international private schools, and students brought under a MEB/YÖK project may be eligible even if located in Türkiye. If you are unsure, contact the International Office before applying.
