Language Requirements

Piri Reis University teaches most programs 100% in English. Here is what you need for English-taught and Turkish-taught programs.

Language of instruction

English-taught programs

If English is not the first or official language of your country, you must attend the compulsory English Preparatory School — unless you qualify for an exemption.

  • Exemption by exam: pass the English Proficiency Exam held at PRU (dates are announced on the University website).
  • Exemption by certificate: submit a qualifying score from one of the accepted exams below.
  • Otherwise, you complete the English Preparatory School before starting your degree.

Turkish-taught programs (TÖMER)

If Turkish is not your first or official language, provide a TÖMER certificate at the required level.

  • Turkish-taught programs: TÖMER at B1 level.
  • Faculty of Law: TÖMER at C1 level, plus passing the PRU Turkish Sufficiency Test.

Accepted English proficiency exams

Hold a valid score at or above the minimum below and you are exempt from the English Preparatory School.

Where the English Preparatory School is required, its fee is the same as the tuition of your chosen program. Turkish proficiency is assessed by TÖMER. VAT is not included in any fees.
