As the only university specialized in maritime in Türkiye, Piri Reis University is hosted by Istanbul where the crossroads of cultures meet.

Its campus is Türkiye’s first environment-friendly, internationally accredited (BREEAM-accredited) GREEN CAMPUS and situated in Tuzla. With 4 faculties; Faculty of Maritime, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, 1 Maritime Higher Vocational School, 1 Institute of Graduate Studies, and 1 English Prep Department Piri Reis University holds a prominent position not only in the academic realm, but also in the maritime industry.

With its location near important innovation centers such as Gebze Teknopark and Istanbul Teknopark, Piri Reis University offers an education opportunity intertwined with the industry and focused on R&D, production, development, and opens the way for quality employment in the maritime sector. Piri Reis University students can showcase their projects in their respective fields on international platforms and participate in competitions to achieve success.

The fifth largest in the world, and the second largest in Europe, Piri Reis University owns a variety of technologically advanced simulators. In addition to that, the storm scenario training pool and fire drill unit provide hands-on training opportunities.

Piri Reis University students have access to many facilities on the campus. They can socialize with friends on the beachfront, engage in sportive activities, dance, and play, and advance their knowledge with the expansive library resources.

To educate young people equipped with the vocational and communication skills required in the competitive, global environment of the 21st century, who are perfectly trained and capable of operating in any corner of the world.
 
Our aim is to produce graduates who also know how to learn, can think freely, are creative, inquisitive, entrepreneurial team players dedicated to constantly improving themselves. In addition they should be modern, cultured, kind and respectful, socially responsible & conscious citizens in line with the principles and revolutions of Atatürk and Turkish maritime customs and traditions.
 
We also aim to be a pacesetting university that develops national and international projects directly contributing to the lives of our fellow people, implements modern educational programs which are supported by a certain number of other social, cultural and human sciences.
