Primary aim of Engineering Faculty is to train creative engineers who can successfully manage to work in the 21th century’s global competition environment having good communication and teamwork skills. With this understanding, Piri Reis University engineering education programs are regulated as student-oriented and project-based.

Currently, in Engineering Faculty, there are five active departments;

Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Department of Industrial Engineering

Department of Information Systems Engineering

Each department has an eight-semester undergraduate education curriculum. Within this period, all lectures are conducted in English. In the Faculty we have internship programs as well as Erasmus (EU) student exchange programs

With the help of a program called “Co-Op” with the industry, it is aimed to educate engineering students ready for the expectations of the sector. To achieve this aim, the students, who complete the lessons of the 3rd year, spend their afternoons at shipyards, design offices, factories, engineering companies, public or private sector companies to practice their profession during the 4th year of their education. “Co-Op” protocols are signed with more than 20 companies and shipyards as well as techno parks within nearby regions. Also, to support this program, Technology Transfer Office of PRU at Istanbul Techno Park is planning to develop technology improvement projects not only at the bachelor’s degree level but also for MSc and PhD theses with focus on research will be realized.

Student-oriented, project-based engineering education at PRU Engineering Faculty is strengthened with the competent and qualified engineering and science laboratories, computer aided design laboratories, which has up-to-date industrial software and student design office.
